HUNGER STRIKE

LEO BISQUERA

Solo Exhibition
February 28 - March 21, 2026

HUNGER STRIKE functions as a deliberate counter body to LINES OF APPETITE, shifting the visual language of abundance into one of refusal and suspension.

While Lines of Appetite traces desire through accumulation, rhythm, and repetition, Hunger Strike interrupts that flow. The works retain the same linear vocabulary but remove its fulfillment.

The compositions are quieter and more resistant. Lines hover, isolate, or fracture against compressed fields. Backgrounds move toward black as pressure. What was once generous spacing becomes tension. What once suggested nourishment now signals endurance.

LINES OF APPETITE and HUNGER STRIKE operate as a paired system. One articulates desire through excess, and the other through denial. If one speaks in accumulation, the other answers in silence.
